Letters, State College, Pa., to Mrs. and Mrs. H.W. Pease, Lansdowne, Pa., 1940-1948 (bulk 1940-1942).

Stephen W. Pease writes letters to his parents, 16 March 1940-26 April 1942, concerning campus life at Penn State during World War II. The 1940 letters deal with his early, tentative dating; in fall 1941 he is a freshman at Penn State, pledged to Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and writes about student activities, military conscription for World War II, fraternity activities, and dating. His older brother Richard writes to his parents, 18 January-9 April 1942, about school work (his grades and classes), hunting crows, weather, and concerts by Laurence Melchior and Marian Anderson. Also, includes a technical report on the murder of Amber Fischer prepared by Stephen W. Pease and Mary L. Willard, Chemistry Laboratories, Penn State, 31 July 1948.
